During April vacation, 7 students - accompanied by Kristen Magas and Linda Thompson - went to Houston as finalists for NASA’s HUNCH competition. Ethan Mace, a TC Engineering Class of 2018 alum who is now an International Space Station Flight Controller at Johnson Space Center, gave them an in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab and Mission Control Centers

TC was proud to partner with the SAFE Coalition to deliver a program on the perils and impact of substance abuse and high school students. The event featured a trio of speakers as well as a display on a bedroom, showing participants common spots where drugs are hidden. #TCPride

Some 170 students in grades 10-12 took part in SkillsUSA District testing. Categories ran the gamut from cabinetmaking to graphic imaging sublimation to urban search and rescue and much more. TC is extremely proud of its longstanding association with SkillsUSA and its predecessor VICA.

The first annual Job Fair may have been delayed due to weather but it was a smashing success as over 20 companies running the gamut of industries came to campus on Valentine's Day to meet with students in Grade 10-12. It was off to Milford recently for our Grade 10 and 12 Dental Assisting students as they discussed the importance of oral hygiene with over 170 preschool students in a program at Milford HS.

Earlier this week Gunnery Sergeant Dennis Mueller came to campus in an effort to let TC students know about all the exciting opportunities with the Marines. This was one of many by all military branches and other organizations, providing our students with options.

Our freshmen culinary students along with their Grade 11 counterparts took part in a competition resembling that of the hit television show "Chopped." With just four hours to prepare a meal, the students were given whole chicken, kimchi, vanilla wafers, pork rinds and a veggie burger and needed to plan and cook an appetizer, entree and dessert. In mid-January, members of the Franklin Fire and Public Health Departments including TC alum Alisha Sullivan RN, BSN came to our Carpentry Program to deliver Stop the Bleed training. The group spent time with Grade 10 and 12 students detailing how to limit excessive bleeding that results from workplace injuries. Demonstrations and reenactments took place as well.

Tri-County wishes to salute sophomore Gideon St. Lawrence who became the first TC student to take part in the Central District Music Festival in Worcester. Gideon was one of 60 students to advance through auditions and onto the Mechanics Hall stage and perform five pieces along with choreography.
