Our Faculty Friday feature continues this afternoon with Bob Allard - Automotive Technology Instructor!
What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?
My inspiration to become an instructor came in the form of an opportunity of being in the right place at the right time. I possessed the knowledge and experience in my field necessary to meet the standards of becoming an instructor; I just needed to refine my delivery techniques. This is where I’ve experienced the most growth, and now I feel confident and achieve excellent results with student learning.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?
I enjoy watching old black and white movies.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?
My hobbies are extensive - traveling, bicycling, motorcycle riding from the road to the dirt, maintaining a sports car, fishing, especially with our grandson.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?
The one piece of advice I would offer to students and anyone is to never give up, never stop trying.
