Jarred Robitaille

It's Faculty Friday! Today we are featuring our outstanding Math Teacher, Jarred Robitaille!

What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?

My High School teachers and coaches made me consider becoming a teacher. It's been a fantastic career for the most part and I still love working with students

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?

I haven't always been a teacher. I actually majored in business in college and was a Games Workshop retail store manager after college and then a pension plan administrator for around six years

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?

I have too many hobbies. Coaching track and soccer, online and tabletop gaming, martial arts, ballroom dance, DIY carpentry, sleight of hand magic tricks, violin, studying Japanese... the list goes on

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?

Stop being focused on your grade. No one will ever care what your grade was after you leave TC they will care what you know and what you can do. Focus on learning and understanding. Focus on developing your skills. Focus on being better than you were yesterday. The grades you get shouldn't be the goal they are a byproduct of you constantly applying yourself to be better than you were yesterday!
