What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?

My mother's passion for reading and my father's love of sports shaped my upbringing.  As a result, my love of learning and competition led me to pursue a career in education and athletics.  I have been very blessed to spend my career working alongside an amazing group of professionals who have taught me so much about being an educator and about striving to be the best version of myself.  I got into teaching because I enjoyed being a student.  I have stayed in teaching because I enjoy being with my students.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?

I once met my favorite football player of all time walking out of the supermarket, while I was wearing his jersey.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching? I am obsessed with working out and reading.  If I am not at work, I am at the gym picking things up and putting things down, or at home immersed in a book.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?

"Leaders eat last."
