Angela Batt

What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?

When I worked as a structural engineer, I was inspired to become a teacher because I really enjoyed teaching our engineering college interns.  This is my 16th year teaching and it's really rewarding.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?

I've completed 15 triathlons and I've done competitive ballroom dancing.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?

I really enjoy spending time with my daughters as well as skiing, reading, hiking and running.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?

Embrace being a lifelong learner!  I think it's particularly important to keep improving, growing and learning new skills.
