What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?

When I was in college, I worked at a summer camp and fell in love with the idea of working with young adults to help them learn and grow. This inspired me to transition away from a legal career and move into education as a social studies teacher. I also get to coach Cross Country and Track & Field which allows me to build multidimensional relationships with students. I've been at TC for the past 6.5 years and have loved every moment of it!

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?

I've never had a cavity.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?

I love to run, watch movies, read books, and go for walks with my dog. My favorite film series is Star Wars, I ran my first half marathon this year, and I'm currently reading High Conflict: Why We Get Trapped and How We Get Out by Amanda Ripley.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?

"There is more than one way to load a dishwasher." There are several ways for the same thing to get done successfully and it's okay that someone may do something differently than you. Learn from their perspective and life experience to enhance your own.
