It's Faculty Friday! And this week are featuring our outstanding Science Teacher, Nancy Sibilia! What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?
Teaching is a second career for me, but one that had always been on my radar. These past 20 years as a classroom science teacher have kept me closer to home and closer to the study of the world around us! And, man, do Tri-County students keep me young!!
Can you share fun facts about yourself that your students might not know?
Let’s see…I worked as a phlebotomist during my college years; I am a Registered Dietitian and, in my family, I am one of twelve!
Besides teaching at Tri-County, are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
Anything outdoors! And playing with my nieces and nephews (and now playing with their children!) …I love being an Auntie!
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?
Reading and writing are very top of the list! I also love traveling…there is always someplace new I am planning to visit! There is such an education in travel.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?
Practice your handshake! A strong welcoming handshake speaks volumes!
