What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?

I fell into teaching in a pretty unconventional way, working for a private reading company for a summer before starting at TC... I never had a job that felt so natural and positive as being in a classroom, so I'm so lucky that a random opportunity many (many) years ago led to this career... I can't imagine doing anything else at this point in my life... teaching at TC has been an experience I'll always be grateful for!

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?

How about two: I've been a vegetarian for 23 years and if I ever become King of the World my first move will be to ban the grossest food ever, Doritos.

Besides teaching at Tri-County, are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

I participate in several road races a year--my favorite distance is the half marathon; I did my first full marathon last spring and plan to do another in 2025!

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?

I enjoy spending time with my family; reading; watching movies; running and lifting; and I'm an obsessive music collector (vinyl and CDs... all set with those TAPES!)

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?

Embrace experiences that make you uncomfortable... anxiety is very difficult, but avoiding things teaches our minds that we're right to be afraid of things we really should not fear... this causes us to miss out on so much!
