Practical Nursing Programs
Our Mission
The Postsecondary Nursing programs at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical School are designed to prepare the graduate for entry-level positions in the field of nursing.
Tri-County offers this program in two separate schedule formats: 10 month Day Program and an 20 month Evening Program.
The Tri-County Practical Nursing program is fully approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
NCLEX pass rate for 2023: 75%
Effective May 10, 2023, this nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the
Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on
May 10, 2025.

Schedule
10-month Day Program:
September – June
Classes meet 5 days/week, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm
Application for Acceptance Time frame: October – May
20-month Evening Program:
Begins every other September on the ODD Year. Next program begins September 2025
Classes meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 4:00pm – 9:30pm (Day & evening students may be required to attend clinical rotational times other than their normal school hours.)
Applications for Acceptance Time Frame: January to the following May.

Meet the Instructors
Students in the Practical Nursing Program are taught by talented instructors with years of experience in the healthcare industry. Learn more about the level of expertise each instructor brings to the table by reading the brief professional summaries below.
Mandy Chomes MSN, RN
Director
Mandy has been a Registered Nurse since 1994. She obtained her initial license at Quinsigamond Community College. She obtained her BSN and MSN with a major in Nursing Education at Aspen University. Mandy has her vocational teaching license as well as Sheltered English Immersion teachers endorsement from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Mandy has extensive experience in hospice nursing, medical-surgical nursing as well as in the Long Term Care setting.
Mandy came to the Tri-County Practical Nursing program in 2019 and teaches in both the classroom and clinical settings.
Lisa Ferrigno, MSN, RN
Theory/Clinical Instructor
Lisa Ferrigno earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing Education from Framingham State University.
Lisa has had a varied nursing career starting with certifications in IV home care to Orthopedics. She has taught from the CNA level all the way up to BSN level. Ms. Ferrigno brings all of her experience to our Practical Nursing program at Tri-County.
Amiee Charlton, MSN, RN
Theory/Clinical Instructor
Amiee Charlton has been a nurse since 1997, her education began at Laboure College where she earned her RN degree. She completed her BSN at Curry College. Most recently she graduated from Framingham State University with her Master’s in Nursing Education. Amiee has a diverse nursing background including Hospice care, Critical Care/Traveling Nursing, School Health Nursing, and spent most of her career in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) @ the VA Medical Center.
Nicole Pieroway, BSN, RN
Theory/Clinical Instructor
Nicole graduated from our Practical Nursing Program back in 2015. She has since then completed a LPN-RN bridge program at Quincy College and continued on to getting her Bachelors in Nursing at Southern New Hampshire University. Nicole has a large background in nursing with multiple experiences including Long Term Care, VNA work, Hospice work and now working on a Traumatic Brain Injury floor at a rehabilitation hospital. She also holds a Certification in wound care.
Martha Vorce, BSN, RN
Theory/Clinical Instructor
Martha has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and is certified in Emergency Nursing.
Professional experiences include: Staff Nurse on a Medical/Surgical unit,; Clinical Nursing Supervisor; and thirty-plus years as a Staff Nurse in an Emergency Department.
