We would like to invite all parents/guardians of our 9th and 10th grade students to an informational event on Thursday, March 7 at 6:00 in Gerry’s Place Restaurant. Representatives from the school and local organizations will be presenting on a number of topics facing teens and their families as we prepare for the spring season. Please see the list of presentations below. All families that attend will be entered into a raffle, and the selected family will have its student’s dues ($60) paid for this school year!
Hidden in Plain Sight is an exhibit of a teen's bedroom. Come and learn about the various signs of teen substance use.
Heidi Pontes, LMHC is an Adjustment Counselor at Tri-County and the owner of her own private practice that focuses on trauma. She is also a 500 hour registered yoga instructor. She will provide an overview of mental health issues facing today’s teens and its effects on substance use.
Jennifer Knight Levine, is the Co- Founder and CEO of the SAFE Coalition, a growing social service agency in Franklin, MA committed to educating and supporting those affected by substance use disorder and mental health concerns. Ms. Levine has been a key partner for Tri-County over the last 3 years, interacting with students and families and providing substance use education as an alternative to out of school suspension. She will present current substance use trends in Norfolk County.
Officer Paul Guarino, Franklin Police Department and School Resource Officer will review the Social Hosting laws to help protect families as the spring dance season approaches.
