Health Careers

This program is designed to acquaint the student with the numerous career opportunities available to them in the rapidly growing health care field. Students will be prepared for entry-level positions such as a nursing assistant, home health aide, medical office assistant, and EKG technician. Students will receive their certification in nursing assistant, home health aide, CPR, and first aid. Field trips will be taken to health care facilities to view job opportunities. Clinical experience is provided at local health care facilities. Other topics covered in this program include cultural diversity within the health care system, vital signs, body systems, disease processes, medical terminology, human behavior, and communication.

Graduates of this program may choose to pursue further education in such areas as nursing, medical assistant, EMT, physical therapy, dental hygienist, radiology technician and more. This program is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
