Computer Information Systems

The Computer Technology program at Tri-County prepares students for the demands and enormous opportunities available for skilled workers in the information technology field.

The successful graduate will possess hardware, software and networking skills. Initially, instruction in theory describes typical microcomputer architecture, operations and basic network architecture. In each case, underlying topics are presented as concepts, advanced through practical applications, and then implemented in typical PC and computer network. Secondly, the lab procedures give the students practical hands-on examples of the theoretical concepts through experimentation with a live system.

The theory learned is reinforced through hands-on operation and exploration in lab experiments, troubleshooting applications and online/offline computer-based training courses that include both in-school and at-home sessions. Tri-County is a Cisco Networking Academy affiliated with Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in Internet communications.
