Carpentry

The Carpentry Program has been designed to instruct students in all types of house construction and remodeling. Students will be exposed to site and foundation layout work, house framing as projects dictate, as well as exterior and interior finish carpentry. Students can expect to work with wood as well as a variety of other building and finishing materials, and become familiar with modern methods and styles of commercial and residential construction.

Carpenters comprise the largest group of building trade workers. They have the greatest opportunities to become general construction supervisors because of their experience with the entire construction process. Students will gain experience working with plastic laminate and millwork associated with the construction of items such as kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other built-ins. Job opportunities in this field are projected to continue to grow.
